1988 Greenberg’s Guide To Marx Toys, Volume 1, 1st Edition. 143pgs.

Outstanding copy of the “Bible” of Marx toy collecting. Fantastic reference for the avid or novice collector. Even a great book for those who just like old toys!

Hard glossy covers with full color and black and white glossy photos on every page. Maxine Pinsky assembled a wealth of information that would be impossible to find today. She interviewed many of the Marx retiree’s about their role in the company and their impressions of Louis Marx himself.

Although much has been discovered since its publication this book still stands as the cornerstone of collecting American made antique toys.

The first four chapters deal with the history of Louis Marx and the toy industry during the first half of the 20th century. From there it takes off into animal toys, black toys, comic strip toys, buildings and traffic toys, film, radio and television, games, guns, circle toys, soldiers, typewriters and large walking toys. Most are wind-up tinplate.

Size: 8½” x 11”.
